I had reached out to the contact we had booked with earlier in the day but had not heard back, so I went into the bustling brewery to find out our next steps.Īs I had provided our name and information when I initially requested a stay, I was taken aback when this information was not verified, but I rolled with it. When we pulled in, we saw several campers set up in front of the brewery and assumed that we would be joining them shortly. We contacted the host 2 months in advance of our stay, sent our requested date, followed up with our account information when requested, and our stay was confirmed. So, as I always do when we only want a quick stay, I checked the Harvest Hosts website. As we continued our journey across southern Wyoming from Colorado to Idaho, we wanted to make the trip quickly, with only 1-night stays before arriving in Rexburg for a week. They offer one pet-friendly space for an RV of any size, so be sure to make a reservation well in advance. In our previous half dozen stays through Harvest Hosts, we have had nothing but rave reviews, so we should have known something was bound to happen. In the summer, the farm offers a variety of organic produce for purchase, and in the fall and winter, they offer pumpkins and u-cut Christmas trees, respectively. This beautiful location is set along the Snoqualmie River at the foot of the Cascade Mountains, making for a lovely backdrop to an overall fun farm experience. While there are several campgrounds in and around the immediate city area, Harvest Hosts members can also stay the night at Fall City Farms, just about thirty miles east of the city. Be sure to come up with an itinerary before you leave for the day, as this will help you to do and see more. Things to do include visiting the Space Needle, riding the ferries, viewing the skyline, visiting the waterfront parks, grabbing a bite to eat at one of the many excellent restaurants, visiting Pike’s Place Market and the Gum Wall, and so much more. One could easily spend a full day or even multiple days sightseeing across the metro area. This waterfront city is packed with tons of fun activities, and there is so much to do. Last but not least, you can end your road trip in the lovely city of Seattle. Once your adventures in Yellowstone are complete, you can head north and exit the park through the Gardiner, Montana entrance. Be sure to arrive early in the day to snag a campsite. Five campgrounds are reservable, and the remaining campgrounds are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If you plan to camp in the park, there are twelve fantastic options to choose from, with locations all over the different areas of the park. Each of these are beautiful and unique and offer many opportunities for hiking and sightseeing. In addition to geothermal features, visitors can visit the beautiful Yellowstone Lake and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. These can all be seen along some short, easy hikes above the boardwalks that pass by each feature. These features include steaming geysers, bubbling pools, colorful springs, hissing fumaroles, and so much more. This amazing place sits atop an active volcano, creating a plethora of seismic activity and geothermal features. Yellowstone National Park is up next, and many consider this to be one of the most awe-inspiring of the national parks. Pack your bags, and grab your keys, and follow along with us on this awesome cross-country road trip! Those participating will need to purchase both a Harvest Hosts membership ($99) and an America the Beautiful all-access pass ($80) to the national parks to take full advantage of this road trip. Finally, this road trip ends in the lovely city of Seattle to round out the trip. It then passes through the cities of Missoula, Bigfork, Spokane, and Quincy, with the option to stop at Glacier National Park as well. This particular road trip plan begins in Jackson, Wyoming, and crosses through Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, before entering Montana. Throw in a variety of national parks stops, awesome cities, and Harvest Hosts locations, and you will have an amazing itinerary that will make for a fantastic trip. It is even more fun when the beginning and ending destinations are truly special. It allows travelers to choose all the destinations they want to see and in what order makes the most sense. Planning an RV road trip is a ton of fun.
